The Parent Teacher Association

The aim of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is to help raise additional funds for the school in order to enhance and benefit the student's education and school experience. Over recent years we have raised over £30,000, which has been donated to a variety of projects, some of which are listed below:

  • Money donated directly to numerous departments to fund the purchase of equipment
  • Funds donated towards capital projects ie refurbishmentn of student cloakrooms
  • Setting up the Computer Room in the Humanities block
  • Re-stocking the Learning Resource Centre (library)

The aim of the PTA is to strengthen the links between home and school by supporting functions throughout the school's busy calendar, providing refreshments at parents' evenings and school plays, fundraising events like quiz nights, the ‘Pledge 10' club, where for an annual outlay of £10, you could win £25 in our monthly draws and organising second hand uniform sales.

How you can get involved

Come to a meeting
We meet on a regular basis to discuss forthcoming fundraising and social events. Every parent is encouraged to attend, make suggestions and propose new ideas.

Volunteer to help at an event
Running a stall, donating good quality saleable items or taking money at a fundraising event does not require too much time if we all take our turn.

Set up your own satellite PTA
Travelling back to the school takes an effort. By running a small fundraising event in your own locality you can still raise funds and make friends. Every little helps and we will share your good ideas here on this page for others to try with some helpful tips to make your event successful.
